Gunfire and Grenades

Gunfire shots

Grenades thrown

Bullets fired

Broken windows

Shaky walls

Trembling ground

Men shouting

Friends crying

Teacher down on ground

Lying still

Red fluid gushing through his chest

No more of multiplication for today

 I want to go home

To my Mum and sleep

But I can’t find my way

It is dark and hazy

I can’t see anything but smoke

My slate is lost

I don’t know where I am

All I see is people

Running and shouting

And I see more of them

On grounds, covered with the same red fluid

And I see my Father

He is running

Running towards me

A bomb explodes behind him

He is down

He is still

I shout my heart out

And I don’t hear my own voice

I don’t hear anything

Gunfire shots

Grenades thrown

Bullets fired

I can’t hear nothing

And this is all I remember

Before being taken with the rest of the faces I remember

And with those I don’t

To a place unknown

For reasons unexplained

  1. Truth is mostly heartbreaking and so it is. Can’t get over those lines of yours.
Read multiple times, but each time I get a deeper meaning through it.
